🔹 ON THE BOTTOM

 означає «на нижній поверхні», «на дні (як частина поверхні)» — тобто щось лежить або знаходиться безпосередньо на нижній частині предмета. Це вказівка на фізичний контакт із нижньою поверхнею.

There is some dust on the bottom of the shelf.	Є трохи пилу на дні / на нижній поверхні полиці.

🔹 AT THE BOTTOM

значає «внизу», «у нижній частині», тобто місце або позицію біля нижнього краю чогось, але не обов’язково на поверхні. Це місце в просторі, а не поверхня.

We found a cave at the bottom of the hill.	Ми знайшли печеру внизу пагорба.
